There is a new member benefit program (also called an affinity program) for credit card processing that could be a big money-saver for you called Zero fee’s.

Here is how the program benefits you, the NESPA member:

Although the program has been in effect for a while, there is a new twist that makes a world of difference. Through this program, your customers are charged with credit card fees, instead of you. In the past, the biggest drawback to the program has been the fear of alienating your customers (even though more and more companies are doing it). 

The new program gives several options, which are programmed into your gateway or machine. Basically, it enables debit to be separated from credit. What this means is that if a customer uses a debit card (which everyone has) the fees will be charged to your company, but it will only be 1.25 percent. This reduces your total fees by over 60 percent. 
If the customer insists on using a credit card, the “technology fee” will be charged to the customer. It is usually 3.5 percent.  The bottom line is most merchants are tired of paying for customers vacations, through their expensive points. There are also several options, were you can override and pick and choose as you wish. 

If for any reason you decide that you don’t like the new program, the company can immediately switch you back to the standard, but with a significantly lower cost than you now have. 

Other benefits of the program for you:

•    As part of the NESPA program, there are NO set up, start up or cancellation fees of any kind
•    Once you are signed with Benchmark, if anyone comes along with a lower rate in writing; Benchmark will match it
•    20 percent of the revenue that gets generated goes back to NESPA to help fund member programs
