Thank you to everyone for making the 2019 Pool & Spa Show such a success! We brought together more than 11,000 industry professionals, held over 100 training sessions and showcased hundreds of industry-focused products & services.
Once again this year we’ve expanded the hands-on learning opportunities at the Show to include new courses including the Shotcrete Uncovered (an in-depth look at the right ways and the wrong ways to prepare, shoot and finish a shotcrete pool shell), Tile & Coping 2.0 (hands-on training on tile & coping renovation work) and Rookie to All-Star: Service Fundamentals (real-world training to turn entry level service tech to all-star employees). With all of these classes selling out, we are looking at more ways to create interactive learning options for 2020!
This year’s Education Conference saw record attendance in our business program as many companies took advantage of the chance to sharpen both the business and technical skills at this year’s Show. A hot topic of conversations was Workforce Solutions for the 2019 season and beyond. Over 70 business owners participated in our half-day workshop on Preparing for the 2019 Workforce. The discussion had during this session focused on successful strategies that have worked for pool and spa companies working in the Northeast. There was so much valuable information shared that we are compiling the lessons learned so we can share them with our membership. We will be sharing this information in the next edition of The Edge (best viewed in internet explorer) that will be out this spring.
