PHTA Pool & Spa Construction Course


March 16 - 19
ime: 9 am - 5 pm  

This 3-day course takes you through the PHTA Builders Manual and gives you information you need to comply with industry standards. You will cover all types of pool and spa installation processes, water feature construction, layout, excavation, hydraulic design, and industry standards. The 4th Edition PHTA Builders Manual is required for this course. 

The course is an excellent way to prepare for the CBP Certified Building Professional® exam.  NESPA will be offering the exam on Thursday, March 19th for those who have received approval from PHTA.

Fees: $1295 Member | $1495 Non-Member

Fee includes 4th Edition PHTA Builders Manual and Workbook
Although the class prepares you to take the CBP Exam, it is not included with fees. Fee must be paid to PHTA upon their approval.

To Register to Take the CBP Exam

  • You must contact PHTA at 703-838-0083 for pre-registration details and exam qualifications. 
  • Candidates must submit to PHTA a completed CBP Application at least 14 days in advance of their anticipated testing date. Download the Application
  • Please notify us if you have received approval from PHTA and plan to take the exam on Thursday, March 19th


The Northeast Spa and Pool Association is following the latest developments related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  NESPA is continuing to host training programs at our facility in Hamilton, New Jersey. These education courses provide the industry with valuable education that companies will need for the upcoming season.

We have amplified our cleaning and disinfecting efforts based on recommendations from the Center for Disease Control.

Please continue to use common sense measures to help protect yourself from illness such as regular hand washing, using hand sanitizer, keeping your hands away from your face, and etc.
