NESPA’s 2019 year round Professional Institute Schedule is now available! We offer a variety of courses to assist with your business’ needs. In addition to the hands-on courses offered at NESPA Headquarters in Hamilton (details below), there is a full calendar of events hosted by your local chapters as well.  View their upcoming education schedules for even more training opportunities.

March 11-14
Pool & Spa Construction Course    
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
NESPA Headquarters | Hamilton, NJ
$1095 for course | $1260 for course & Builders Manual

The course is an excellent way to prepare for the CBP Certified Building Professional® exam. 
This 3 ½ day course takes you through the APSP Builders Manual and gives you information you need to comply with industry standards. You will cover all types of pool and spa installation processes, water feature construction, layout, excavation, hydraulic design, and industry standards. 

The 4th Edition APSP Builders Manual is required for this course.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Although the class prepares you to take the CBP Exam, it is not included with fees.
  • You must contact APSP at 703-838-0083  for pre-registration details and exam qualifications. 
  • Candidates must submit to APSP a completed CBP Application at least 14 days in advance of their anticipated testing date. Download the Application

NESPA will be offering the CBP exam at the conclusion of the PSCC course on March 14th for those who have received approval from APSP.

Effective July 30, 2019, the State of New Jersey will require builder/installers to be licensed.   To qualify for this license, builders/installers must hold an APSP Certified Building Professional designation. More details on this new law.

Getting Ready for the Season: Pool & Spa Opening Class 
9 am - 3 pm 
NESPA Headquarters, Hamilton, NJ     
Member $125/Non-Member $175

This hands-on class will include everything service technicians and maintenance workers need to know in the field when opening a pool. It’s a great chance for your employees to brush up for the upcoming season or to learn new skills.

Vinyl Liners: Prepping for Installations, Replacements & Renovations
9 am - 4 pm 
NESPA Headquarters, Hamilton, NJ     
Member $125/Non-Member $175

Ensure that your vinyl liner installation is a 'perfect fit'. In the classroom, review how to measure, prep and install your project - from the ground up. You’ll learn how to deal with ground water issues, the effects of water chemistry, and wrinkle problems when installing a vinyl liner. Leak detection will be reviewed.

In our hands-on training facility, you’ll get the chance to apply what you've learned in the classroom. You will gain practical experience while you pick up handy tricks of the trade and troubleshooting techniques that will boost your confidence in the field. Come prepared to work!

Course will cover

  • How to define and establish an understanding of measuring techniques for liner replacements
  • Using the A-B measuring method for custom pools with unique interior features
  • How to use these techniques to get a competitive edge for your company
