GL 1041 and 1043 – enhances penalties for any contractor who performs work without the necessary license or registration required under Connecticut law. The enhanced penalties include upgrading the matter to a Class B misdemeanor. It also authorizes the Commissioner to have the power to revoke the license or registration of a contractor who allows unlicensed or unregistered employees to perform work where a license or registration is required.

S-424: Requires every homeowner in the state with a pool to obtain and submit to its homeowner’s insurance carrier a statement from the local building official that the pool meets the requirements of the state building code or any local codes.

CT-H-5523: Requires pool heaters, residential pool pumps and portable electric spas meet the requirements of the California appliance energy efficiency regulations when part of a state-financed construction and renovation project to comply with green building standards.

CT H-5686: Establishes a Water Advisory Group to assist in water resource allocation within the Water Planning Council. This group can include members from the recreational water environment.

CT H-5693:
Requires a home improvement contractor to refund money paid on deposit within 10 days of a written request for certain criteria.

CT S-363: Requires all swimming pools regardless of the age of construction to conform to the most recent changes to the State Building Code.
