Exciting Time For The Industry!

NESPA and its exhibitors have said for years that the Atlantic City Pool & Spa Show is the place where business is done. Its 28th annual show in Atlantic City—held January 27-29, 2009 in this glamorous gambling capital of the northeast--was no exception. Show Chairman Andrew Levinson estimated that over 11,000 people attended the event, visiting 419 exhibitors at 1,025 booths. Those at the show had the opportunity to attend over 70 business and technical seminars that ran from Sunday, January 25 through Thursday, January 29, 2009.

In 1980 the show was cancelled do to a Teamsters' strike and the NESPA board decided it would never hold another show in New York City and be subject to the whims of its unions.

It was determined the Show must stay in the Northeast and the driving forces for a refashioned show were Les Kowalsky and Al Rizzo. In 1981 a consensus for a new trade show formed and Kowalsky wanted to have the show in Atlantic City, NJ.
