Around the Chapters…
Chapter Programs Scheduled for March 2008 and Beyond

One of the great benefits of NESPA membership is that you are actually a member of not one but three associations—APSP (Association of Pool & Spa Professionals), NESPA and your local NESPA Chapter. In the upcoming months, NESPA’s five chapters will offer a great variety of programming that will educate you and your staff and also allow you to network with industry friends. Keep in mind as you read over the following schedule of events that even though you are a member of one chapter, the other chapters will welcome you to their events as well.

Metro Chapter
Here is a list of Metro Chapter’s programs for the upcoming months:

  • March 18, 2008: General Metro Membership Meeting: Contract Compliance (Rockland County), Consumer Protection Director, Joan O’Keefe speaking
  • April 15, 2008: Metro Board of Director’s Committee Meetings
  • June 17, 2008: Metro Board of Director’s Meeting
  • July 15, 2008: Metro Board of Director’s Committee Meetings
  • August 19, 2008: Metro Board of Director’s Meeting
  • December 13, 2008: Metro Chapter Holiday Party

CONSPA
CONSPA is finalizing plans for 2008. Here are its plans to date:

  • March 25, 2008 Janita Hamel will speak about Licensing and answer questions, Colonial Tymes Restaurant, Hamden, CT
  • April 22-April General Membership Meeting, Topic TBD
  • TBA—Meet the Health Inspectors Night
  • TBA—Building Codes for Inspectors and Pool Builders

Penn Jersey
Programming in Penn Jersey:

  • March 18--Water Chemistry (Basic and Advanced), Cherry Hill, NJ
  • March 26 - Pool Openings 1:00-4:00 West Chester Golf Club   West Chester, PA

Capital District Chapter
Our Capital District Chapter will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2008. Please watch our website www.capdistpool.com for more information on informative seminars and more.

Long Island Chapter
The Long Island Chapter is offering a wide variety of programming in the upcoming months as follows:

  • March 20: Pentair Hydraulic Seminar (with display van) & Pool Opening Session
  • March 29: Casino Night
  • April: Hayward hosted Heat Pump and Salt Generators
  • July 22: LIPSA Golf Outing
  • August: Winterizing-Safety Cover Measuring
  • October: Comprehensive Computer Applications for Retail or Service Companies
  • November: Building Pools with ANSI/APSP 7 Standards-hosted by builder council and tech committee.
  • November: Design Awards/Gala Event
