Pool Industry Licensing Comes of Age


YOU CAN NOW add Suffolk County to the growing list of legal entities requiring the licensing of pool and spa professionals. Currently, Nassau County and the State of Connecticut require licensing as well. Some other counties in New York are looking to follow the lead of the two Long Island counties. The states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania are looking closely at what is happening in Connecticut. I think it is safe to say that pool industry licensing is finally coming of age in the NESPA region.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY – HOW TO MEET NEW LICENSURE REQUIREMENT


Nassau County, Long Island - new licensing requirements – All pool builders, service contractors and pool maintenance contractors must now be licensed in Nassau County, Long Island. All information on who must be licensed and how to obtain the license

For Pool Builders
The law requires that one individual in the company seeking licenser (or renewal) must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience, which must be documented to the county officials, AND hold the CBP Certified Building Professional designation. The CBP designation can be achieved through an application and testing process
