Great swimming pools and spas take time to plan and build and if you are in the market for a new pool and spa for 2016, there is no time like the present to contact a Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA) pool professional to get your pool project started.

“Swimming pool builders are finally catching up with the big early summer rush of new pools and spas and now is a perfect time to begin planning your new backyard oasis for 2016,”
said John C. Migliaccio, CPO, CBP, president of the Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA). “Working with a pool professional -- starting right now -- there is ample time left in 2015 to create your magnificent backyard pool and spa setting and get much of the construction done before the winter sets in. Then in the early spring, your pool professional can put the finishing touches on the project and have it completed in time for a big Memorial Day weekend bash in 2016.”

But where do you find the great ideas for your own pool and spa? A great way is to contact one or more pool professionals who are members of NESPA, according to the President. Go to the “
Find A Professional” page on the NESPA website.

“These men and women are world class pool builders,” he said. “They are highly educated, Certified and adhere to NESPA’s strict Code of Ethics. When you find a company on our ‘Member Locator,’ go to the firm’s website. Many of these companies offer a Gallery of Pools and Spas that they have created. If you like the pool builder’s work, give them a call and make an appointment. They will look over your backyard and give you many great ideas not only about the pool and spa, but also about landscaping and finishing elements to help you create a backyard that you will never want to leave.”

Migliaccio said that there is another section of the NESPA website that all would-be swimming pool owners must visit.
NESPA calls it their “Inspiration Gallery” and it contains award-winning pools, spas and water features from 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011. Click on the Inspiration Gallery to see hundreds of pools and get thousands of ideas for your own pool.

T
he exciting thing about NESPA’s Inspiration Gallery, according to Migliaccio, is that you can pick up one idea or feature from one pool and a second from another. As you go through the hundreds of pools in the gallery, click on the photos that have a features or ideas that you love, copy the photo and then save it to your own computer. What you are in effect creating is your own scrapbook of pool and spa ideas.

“When you meet with your NESPA builder,” he explained, “you can show him or her the sun deck that you love, the blue-stone patio you want around your pool, the spa that spills into the pool, the LED lighting to transform your nights and the elegant outdoor kitchen that even includes a pizza oven for spur-of-the-moment parties.”

The President said that the swimming pool enhances the value and beautifies your home, it gives you a place to exercise, it will reduce your stress level and it is great for entertaining.

Another benefit is that you may even get to see your teen-age and college-age children more. “I have clients who tell me,” said Migliaccio, “that they have college-age children who want to come home for a visit. They say it’s for Mom’s cooking, but Mom says it is for the swimming pool. They then invite there friends over and have parties.”
