Northeast Spa & Pool Association Executive Director, Lawrence Caniglia, has announced that he will semi-retire on February 1, 2018 to pursue other interests. He has served as Executive Director of the Association and the NESPA Foundation for nearly 14 years.
Under Caniglia’s leadership, the Association launched several initiatives, including bringing licensing to Connecticut and New York (Rockland, Nassau and Suffolk County), building the association’s membership and expanding programs like our Annual Congress of Committees.
During his time as Executive Director, he has also led the Board and other association volunteers through the development of multiple strategic plans with the most recent plan being adopted in 2016. This multi-year plan will help to support a smooth transition with the next Executive Director.
“I know I speak for all of our members when I thank Larry for his years of service to our industry,” said Irene Insignares, president of NESPA. “We will all miss his guidance, forward thinking and commitment to NESPA but I know that over the last fourteen years he has built a strong foundation that will help insure a smooth transition as we look to find our next Executive Director.”
“The last fourteen years have given me great opportunities to grow professionally as well as personally,” said Caniglia “I believe now is a good time for me to step back due to the experience and continuity of our current staff and Board of Directors. I feel comfortable with the direction we are going and that NESPA will continue to best serve its members.”
